About Us
We can’t solve all of the world’s problems. And we certainly can’t solve homelessness.
The Homing Foundation was started to help the homeless people in our communities who want to be reunited with their loved ones and/or find their way home. Some are homeless simply because they have no means of getting home. We are here to help cover the costs of transportation, locating loved ones, and preparation to be reunited home.
We can’t do this alone. With your generous donations, these individuals will have a way home and some financial assistance to help them stabilize at home and get back on their feet.
We are forever grateful for Jeff DuFine and Lucy Campbell for their initial generous giving to help get the Homing Foundation started.
By helping one at a time find their way home, we can make a difference.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost per individual to be helped?
The costs vary and is different for each case. So far it averages over $1,000 per individual to be “returned” home.
What costs are associated with each relocation?
Transportation costs are only a portion of the total costs. There are preparation costs such as lodging for the night before travel, sometimes professional services such as legal fees and documentation costs, and some of these individuals have personal possessions that need to be shipped also. We want to make this a full relocation with compassion and understanding for the values of the individual. Some cases, we are able to assess the need for a small monthly stipen for the first few months to stabilize the relocation for the family.
Who is qualified for assistance?
Anyone who is homeless and who freely wants to relocate to be with family or someone who can provide shelter and support.
How do you locate these people?
We work with many local not for profit organizations who are in the streets with the homeless. They refer to us the qualified individuals who need our assistance. We thoroughly qualify the individuals to make sure they fit our criteria for relocation.
How are you ensuring these people will not be homeless again?
We can’t guarantee anything. For this program to work, we make sure the individual wants to have shelter with someone they know. And we make sure the other end will want to take in the individual. We only facilitate the relocation.
Are you publicly funded?
No. We rely on donations from individuals like you who are generous and compassionate. We do receive some grants but the majority of our budget comes from private donations.
What’s your administrative and overhead costs?
The majority of your donations go to the actual work to assist the individuals in need. Our overhead is minimal and we operate with a lot of volunteer hours and cooperation with the network of non profits at the local level. Currently we do not have salaried positions.
